A man was removed from a recent flight after seeing a member of the cabin crew lower their mask because he became "disruptive."
"The passenger was due to fly with Allegiant Air from Punta Gorda, Florida on 7 September when, according to the airline, he was kicked off service before departure "for repeatedly disturbing the pre-flight safety briefing.
A fellow traveller named Patrick tweeted about the incident, writing: "This elderly man was thrown off the Punta Gorda Florida airline this morning because he asked the flight attendant why he had to wear a mask and she didn't have to wear one."
He also posted a video showing the man being escorted from the plane and demanding to talk to the pilot, though he is told "no" by a female flight attendant and firmly ushers him out of the plane.
According to the airline, after the man saw a cabin crew member not wearing his mask properly, things got heavy.
Newsweek was advised by an Allegiant Air spokesman: "The flight attendant giving the safety briefing lowered their mask to speak to the PA so that the briefing could be understood."
They said the passenger became "disruptive" because of this.

Although the Allegiant website notes that "all crew members are required to wear a face covering during inflight service at all times and gloves," it is not the first time passengers have complained of a comfortable attitude from employees.
"Jessie Kunkel tweeted a picture of a flight attendant on September 4 with her mask pulled down while talking to a passenger, captioned: "@Allegiant how am I supposed to feel comfortable flying when my chatty Kathy flight attendant doesn't even properly wear her mask and keeps taking it off?!?? First or second, safety...? ”
"Of their Allegiant Air flight in August, another Twitter user wrote: "Had to fly home this week and gave @Allegiant a try for their safety priorities. Was that a joke - when providing the SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, even the flight attendants did not wear a mask. They also did not implement mask wearing on the plane that went against their policy.'
